1953 Wards Airline 35WG-1570B Antique Vacuum Tube AM/FM/Phono Radio

This 1953 antique vacuum tube radio was electrically restored by me a few years ago. I checked it all out to make sure it works (it does!!). It’s a great AM/FM receiver, I used to use this to listen to classical music on the local public radio station while I read, and never had any issues at all. I would recommend clipping a longer wire to the FM antenna leads to pick up more stations, but as it sits it is quite a capable receiver.

It also has a phono-in jack, so with the proper adapter (not included) you can connect a bluetooth receiver, MP3 player, or phonograph and listen to that audio through the vacuum tube amplifier.

The cabinet is original, and while its in excellent condition, it does have some minor surface scratching, “haze” etc. … I want to say this is plastic, but it really looks like bakelite because of the color in the finish. I can’t be 100% sure, so I have not done any surface work (buffing, waxing, etc) for fear of damaging the finish.

This radio will ship FOR FREE in the USA and will be insured for the full purchase price.

NOTE: I WILL NOT SHIP this radio internationally, there have been too many stories of various custom agencies confiscating vacuum tube devices never to be seen again.

Additionally, I guarantee that the radio will function properly for 90 days. If it fails in that time, PLEASE LET ME KNOW and I’ll make arrangements to get it repaired. After that, I can still repair it, but additional charges apply.
